Shakesperience (Ages 7-11): 11-12pm Winter with Will is an intro to Drama and Shakespeare class, where children will engage in warm-ups and movement exercises, learn the basics of improvisation and play lots of theater games. We’ll take a journey through some of Shakespeare’s stories, exploring text and playing with characters that touch on many themes and emotions. We’ll delve into mask making as another means of communication and to further encourage imaginative play. On our final Saturday, we’ll invite parents to join us for an informal showing of what we’ve been working on.

"Shakespeare in Spring!"Saturdays:
March 4, 11, 18, 25, April 1, 22, 29, May 6, 13, 20 and June 3, 10. Ripley-Grier Studios 131 West 72nd Street (between Amsterdam & Columbus), Studio 4F Budding Bards (pre-k through 1st grade): 10-11am
Shakesperience (2nd through 5th grade): 11-12pm In Shakespeare in Spring!, children will engage with Shakespeare as we deeply explore one of his plays to fully understand the story and language through scene work, group text, movement and fun theater exercises. We will play with Shakespeare’s vivid characters, providing the children with an opportunity to step into another’s shoes and practice empathy. Through their exploration of improvisation, theater games & exercises, the children will grow as learners and performers of Theater and develop an appreciation of the Dramatic Arts. On our final Saturday, we’ll invite parents to join us for an informal viewing of the adaptation we’ll develop of the Shakespeare play we’ve chosen to explore.
